TAFE SA’s Tonsley campus provides nearly 45,000m2 of world-class, energy efficient, trade training infrastructure for the $4.5 billion South Australian building and construction industry. Tonsley brings together all the building trades under one roof, enabling students to learn and work together as they’ll be required to do in the industry.


The TAFE SA building at Tonsley has been designed to be a learning tool in itself. All of the building’s services – electrical, plumbing, communication, air-conditioning, gas, waste systems – are exposed, so students get an insight into how the building works. Within this structure, the Tonsley campus is host to a suite of specialist facilities.

The Renewable Energy Centre of Excellence – training and technologies for the renewable, sustainable and demand-side energy management industry

The Onshore Petroleum Centre of Excellence (OPCE) – a fully immersive simulated oil and gas production environment for technical training. It allows training in oil and gas operations, including safety, sustainable operational principles and maintenance activities, without expensive fly-in, fly-out arrangements for workers

Library facilities are provided through the Adelaide City campus. There is also an online TAFE SA Library.
