Breakfast time where families are welcome to stay and enjoy breakfast with the children.

Handover time with children, families and our friendly Educators. There’s a chance to share what’s important for the day and any news from home.

An opportunity to play and discover with open-plan play in family groups and multi-age groupings.

Planned experiences. This is where the Guardian difference comes to life. Alongside our Educators your child’s exploration leads to learnings in numeracy, literacy, language, critical thinking, problem solving, leadership, social skills, technology, creative arts and much more.

An opportunity for children to come together for a healthy snack, often they help prepare their food alongside our carers and cook.

Individually tailored to your child’s needs and curiosity the planned experiences continue, this includes both indoor and outdoor programs.

Another nutritious meal expertly prepared by our cook. Families are invited to join the children for meals and excursions if they wish.

If your child wants to, or needs to sleep, it’s time to rest and recharge. For children who don’t need to rest the planned experiences continue, in most cases outdoors.

Another chance for the children to come together and re-fuel in small groups or with siblings. There is also an opportunity to rest or play together and reflect on the day.

There are a number of TAFE SA policies, procedures and guidelines that also exist which specifically relate to children, students, respectful behaviour and appropriate conduct. These policies should be read in conjunction with the policies of the Child Care Network.

Our centres are allergy aware! Action plans are required for allergies - can be requested from the centre, are to be completed by doctor and supplied to the child care along with the labelled medication (if applicable) for child to attend.

Unlike many centres in South Australia, TAFE SA child care centres do not charge for centre closures (Christmas and new year period) and public holidays. This saves families between two to three weeks fees per year on average.

In July 2018, the Federal Government introduced a new Child Care Subsidy (CSS) to replace the Child Care Benefit and the Child Care Rebate.

We recommend that you apply for CCS prior to commencing care at our centre. This will ensure you receive your entitlement from the day you start.

Catering for children aged six weeks to school aged children, we have four learning spaces at the centre - Nursery, Toddler and Preschool.


Our experienced early childhood educators and teachers deliver an age appropriate early learning curriculum tailored to your child's individual interests.

At Goodstart Melrose Park our Preschool program is evidence based and is specifically designed for children aged 3-5 years. The curriculum is based on the Early Years Learning Framework, which is delivered by our degree-qualified Early Childhood Teacher. We nurture children’s collaboration, communication, creativity and critical thinking skills. Our goal is to ensure children have the learning, development and wellbeing outcomes they need for school and life.

Stimulating surrounds ensure the children have the chance to grow and develop through sensory, play-based learning; and we are focused on ensuring the children are ready to take that all important step up to school.

The majority of our communication with families is through Storypark and we find that this enable us to stay in close contact with parents and families, ensuring open and clear communication. This communication also means that we have a strong partnerships with our families which supports us to tailor our programs to the children’s individual needs, interests and strengths – as well as the strong level of cultural diversity within our centre.

Outside, our age appropriate outdoor play spaces and equipment are all geared to enhance the children’s awareness of their surrounds and the natural environment, as well as their understanding of the importance of sustainability and respect for the environment. Our play areas have sandpits, natural gardens, a play kitchen and open space to run around - and everything in between - with lots of shade for sunsafe play.
