Adelaide Sewing Centre: what do users think?

Williampreet Dhani: Excellent service every time I visited the shop. Must visit for professional advise and reasonable prices for quality products.

Brenda: The old saying goes Mother knows best. Luckily for me my Mother knew Adelaide Sewing Centre and took me there to get started on my sewing hobby. I am so pleased!! I have been taught so much with kindness and patience, and become part of a community that brings me much happiness. Also, a friend of mine recently avoided spending a lot of money on a machine she would have been disappointed with, after I shared with her a tip Heather once gave me. She was very relieved! Having such wonderful people I can wholly trust to assist and guide me with all of my product, and machine, purchases and services is something I am always grateful for. Your beautiful business is a happy place for so many of us. I cannot thank you enough, Brenda

Helen King: Amazing place I get all my machines serviced here and have bought numerous machines from Kathy and Dave. Picked up another new toy last week. I can’t fault the service these guys are amazing

Christine Reich: The service I have received at Adelaide sewing centre has always been very professional. My sewing and quilting machines are serviced by David, and the quality of his work is outstanding. David and Kathy are a very supportive family business, and are a pleasure to know.

Glenys Elliott: I can always be greeted with a smile and get great help from Kathy and Dave and when I leave my machine for a service I know it is in professional hands with Dave.I thoroughly recommend Adelaide Sewing Centre to my friends and they always thank me for doing that. Keep up the great work guys a pleasure to shop with you.

Jacqui Hart: I love this business! Kathy is always so helpful and patient when I'm making fabric selections and I always end up with just the right thing. As a quilter I'm eternally grateful to David for his ready advice and assistance in technical issues, especially as the issue is often with the user! He has taken time from his busy service and repair schedule to follow up on my queries. Thanks thanks to you both, I'd be lost without you!

Jan Murfitt: Adelaide Sewing Centre is my favourite quilting shop in Adelaide. I have bought two machines from them and have them serviced regularly. Love their fabrics and accessories, bag making supplies and templates. Kathy is so helpful and Dave a wonderful mechanic and can fix any sewing machine on the market, especially longarms.

Kay Lovell: I have lost count of the number of years I have been dealing with this family owned and run business. I have bought several ‘high-end’ sewing machines from them with superb instructions and after sales service. Dave keeps all my machines in superb working order and notifies me when there are upgrades available, all at reasonable or no cost. This is my ‘go to’ place for all my sewing supplies, never stuck for inspiration or advice with any of my projects and wouldn’t take my business anywhere else. Thank you ASC, long may you continue to support my addiction!

Kay Calder: Over the past six years I have purchased three new machines from Adelaide Sewing Centre and had them serviced there as well. At all times I have received accurate quotes, professional advice and friendly service. I was deeply distressed to read the Tate’s negative reviews of this wonderful family business and strongly believe that this is an aberration.

Danielle Hodge: Great service both in the shop and of my machines. My go to shop for annual service of my pfaff and Sweet sixteen. Always get the assistance I need and my machine works smoothly after its service. Worth the drive down from Semaphore.

Heather Hopkins Quilts: Best business in the south for service and repairs! Wouldn't trust my HQ longarm or Husqvarna embroidery machine to anyone else.

Julia Mustac: If you’re after the best service and advice then a local family run business is always the way to go. Thank you for your expertise and knowledge. You will always be my go to store.

Margaret Ferguson: Mark and Allison are always so helpful and polite and a wealth of information. I really appreciate them.

Lorilei Bowyer: Extremely happy with their help. I bought a second hand sewing machine from an op shop and took it to Janome Sewing centre to buy the missing power cable. They supplied one and tested the machine, to find it worked, but motor was compromised and would die any day. The gentleman explained he rather sell me one of their second hand models instead of the $60 power cable for a machine that would die soon from the op shop. Absolutely wonderful in finding me a budget machine, and the ladies were so wonderful to sit down and show me how to thread and use the features. Absolute angels! I really need to learn sewing machines for my job role so their help was an absolute gift. Note: avoid sewing machines from op shops if pieces missing. Come here instead. Charlie and his angels work here!

Chapel Sewing Solutions: what do users think?

munro: These guys are so sweet, friendly and competent!

Hn Ts: Happy with all alteration that I have given - many have been tricky like leather jackets shortening with zipper and winter coats alterations sizing down etc

Maria Madsen: Connie did a beautiful job of adding this tulle to my wedding dress, making it look like it was part of the original dress as well and taking it a little in and adding straps.

Rachel Parken: These people are the real pros of alterations, custom makes and their quality is second to none! Their customer service is also incredible and they actually listen to what you want and will discuss with you if they don’t think the project will work out as you’ve imagined. But seriously, no better place in adelaide to go!!! 😀⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

Stefanny Rueda: Good and neat work. It could be helpful to have appointments so you can drop off and collect your clothes with more personalized options.

Pamela Hutchens: Great service.

Megan Lloyd: and more recently the opposite. A favourite A-line skirt with an extremely high-waist was just no longer wearable. The Sewing Boutique magicians lowered the waist band, widened the skirt slightly and replaced the zip - and you can't even tell it has changed it all. Love, love, love it.

Paul V: Always professional, quality work at a reasonable price.Services Alterations …

Keir Forrester: We all need a tailor

catherine cameron: A wonderful experience. So happy with my outfit.

Nicole Walker: I will be eternally grateful for chapel sewing solutions. Thank you for helping me last minute with a wedding dress and making it fit perfectly. I was so impressed with your workmanship and ability to create solutions on the spot.

Julian Saliba: Excellent n very efficient!Great friendly service and prompt

Mark Mywords: Wonderful service from lovely ladies. It was a pleasure to visit this store. The service was excellent!Highly recommendedPositive Professionalism …

Jacqueline Powell: Addendum to review below. After the experience contact was made with Connie and the photos sent. Connie apologised, for what had occurred acknowledged the issues with the dress and offerred to remediae the issues. Connie at the time said when I was pessimistic re the sleaves being fixable that I would be amazed at what she could do with the dress, and was rightConnie did an amazing job on the sleeves which look lovely and fit perfectly look lovely and the sash is perfect. Thankyou so much!Despite the negative experience noted below, I would definitely recommend a business which "made good" and has the skills to be able to do that. The final photo although not doing justice to the how lovely it looks when worn, does show how the added band is in harmony with the sleeve very well done and gentle flow to its termination.Saturday 1 needed alterations to an expensive silk and embroidered tulle dress made to mmeasure for me in the US but needed some alterations to the bodice, sleeves and length so I looked for a special event dress maker.Pin up experience with Connie to take in bodice, lengthen sleeves keeping current sleeve width, take up hem, add stiffener to the sash so it sat without buckling and to hand sew the sash to dress somit would remain in place and left having faith a good job would be done. Arrangements made to pick up 9:30 the following Saturday.Saturday 2 return- hem okay, sleeve alterations pointing out in a V point like a pixie sleeve, sleeves were firm but just okay to dance in without riding up, sash not fixed to bodice and not noticeable stiffener. On taking the dress off noted the sash was higher than the other at the back zip edge and was told not to worry it would be fixed. When raised concern at job not done etc was told these things happen when we alter a ready made dress and required changes pinned for a second time. Noticed what looked like blackcurrand syrup or drink stains in the sash was told it was sewing machine oil. Someone must have been drinking whilst working on the dress. Asked for sleeves to not be further tightened as it would restrict movement and the sleeves would be too tight and ride up. Arrangements made to pick up following sat at 9:30. Friday night SMS received after 5 asking to come in at 1130am instead of 930.Saturday 3- arrived at 1130 and noted the dress was lying crumpled with part hanging over the end of a sewing table. It was surprising to see the dress left in that way. On being served the assistant advised she would get the dress and asked about trying on. As there was a plan to have a silk dress made, materials available were checked out while waiting. The assistant returned respectfully carrying the dress and advised they had been trying to make contact to request coming in during the week. Advice provided this was not possible and would mean Thursday night or Saturday which would be difficult. Noted the sash was stain free and commented they were gone and was advised they had been removed for you by the person working on the dress. Asked "what if it is not fixed" and was advised it will all be allright. Faith was now lost. Concern raised re three weeks for alterations and received the same comment about this happens when altering a ready made dress. On try on, the bodice facings has been fixed. The sleeves and sash were not done. Was advised this was because there were no pins and safety pins should have been used.Raised the same issues nd reaffirmed that that the sleeves could not be sewn as tight as re-pinned as they were too tight, would ride up and demonstrated same. Was told it would be allright. I left quickly close to tears and stressed. On ringing to change the day advice received it would be ready that afternoon. On try on, the sleeves were so tight they were digging in, sash uneven and unwearable.Upset I quickly made to leave and as walking past the counter was advise the bell was awaited and if the dress was fixed, "yes it is fixed and after a stressful day" and kept walking.

dianne miles: They were fab and the male fitter just got it all and offered me the most positive advice. Couldn't ask for a more professional person.

Wilson Petrushnko: to buy zippers and weren't sure if the job was do-able.It was by chance I googled Chapel Sewing. When I went into store, they had a zipper long enough
