I was in a bad way with my right knee by the time I had it replaced, I couldn't weight bear at all and had already had 2 months off work, extra delays due to covid restrictions were very difficult.I found recovery tough, first 3 weeks were really rough, I don't react well to anaesthetic and pain killers which makes recovery from surgery difficult for me initially. But by 5-6 weeks I was off painkillers with a great range of movement and feeling great and driving, by 3 months 80% there and so happy with my mobility and lack of pain. 2 years later I don't think too much about my knees, certainly no pain, just the occasional twinge to remind me if I sit for too long.I did a lot of prehab and rehab with the GLAD program and would certainly recommend it. It was so important for my recovery to do the exercises the hospital physios recommended, I did them regularly even when I felt very ill and nauseous and wanted to give up. I still keep up a modified GLAD program even now, got to look after my hips.Will be forever thankful I found Dr Liew, he has improved the quality of my life enormously

Scott Edmeades: I attended Dr James Mclean’s practice, Adelaide Shoulder & Upper Limb Clinic for my torn proximal bicep tendon and rotator cuff damage. He performed a bicep tenodesis, subacromial decompression and repair to the rotator cuff. That was 10 weeks ago.I am very pleased with the progress I have made and the amount of mobility that has returned to both the bicep and shoulder. The surgery was arthroscopic and the scars at this point are minimal and barely noticeable.He took me through the procedure behind hand and explained what he had done afterwards. Dr Mclean provided a large amount of material via YouTube which I thoroughly appreciated. He provided direction to my physio for post operative care.I am very impressed with the care provided by his team the entire way through the process and would have no hesitation in recommending him and his clinic. So much so I intend to undergo another procedure later this year. He can attend to the repairs but can’t stop the aging process!

How true that was !Dr McLean did a complex rotator cuff repair for me and I wish I had seen him much sooner. Due to the discomfort when we reached Adelaide in December we looked up on the internet and found James McLean, rang his clinic and got an appointment within a few days. On seeing James we were totally surprised by his caring professionalism and his willingness to explain what had to be done. We booked a time to have my shoulder reconstructed. On the day of the operation James, his nurses, assistant surgeon and the anaesthetist explained everything about the operation again and totally made me feel at ease. After the operation the hospital care and once released with my medication we got follow up phone calls and texts to confirm that I was doing well and did I require any additional medication or want to discuss anything with James. Smee Again: Dr McLean is a very capable and highly experienced professional with a great amount of caring and empathy for the pain that his patients are experiencing.He listens to you,and goes that extra yard to put you at ease and address any concerns you may have.He has the charm and appeal of a doctor from your dreams which extends to all his staff including his nurse,she's fantastic at removing stitches,took them out without pain before i realised she'd started and I have no qualms at giving his clinic a ten out of ten. He's a credit to his profession.

Jeffrey Browne: I have been to hospital/s almost 20 times! Sports!! Used Sportsmed multiple times too. So I know hospitals pretty well. Today I've had a hip replacement and it was a great day. Dr P is the consummate ortho surgeon and super friendly. The theatre staff and recovery staff just outstanding at every point along my journey. Then nurse Olivia took me back to my room and cared for me. I think THE BEST nurse I've had in all my hospital visits. Everything done on time, precisely and with a smile. All my ward nurses have been excellent. Up to me now what I do with a new hip. Thanks Sportsmed.

Alex: I have had some issues with my hips, which resulted in multiple surgeries. I have been seeing Dr Shahrokhi who has supported me from beginning to the end. I would like to start off by saying this man is truly a gentleman and has been respectful of us as a family as well as individually with our circumstances. He does not have a god complex, like some surgeons do and he was always shown a lot of patience and he would take the time to explain everything to me. Daryl Mitchell: Amazing facility, As part of my T1 diabetes management was reviewed by podiatrist Manning, he took the time to explain how I could prevent and mitigate risk of any damage to my feet along with updating my orthotics, administered some foot care and demonstrated some things I could do to maintain healthy feet.
