Adelaide Lactation Consultants, Midwifery & Hypnobirthing: what do users think?

Alana christensen: I have done a post partum package and a hypnobirthing course with Megan. The post partum package provided us with wonderful breastfeeding support. Megan was a wealth of knowledge and was thoughtful, kind and patient. All the appointments occurred at home which was so convenient and much more comfortable than needing to attend a clinic. The hypnobirthing course we did with her was also great and I would highly recommend!

Laura Williams: The hypnobirthing face to face classes equipped me to achieve the positive birth I so wished for, the class itself was very informative delivered in a relaxed atmosphere with plenty of opportunity to ask questions and as a midwife herself Megan was fabulous at answering all questions. I would highly recommend the classes, there are so many techniques and ‘tools’ that can help towards equipping and empowering you to make informed choices for whatever path your birth takes!

Louise Cohen: Megan was fantastic. Very professional yet relatable. I felt confident the information I was getting was evidence based and helped my partner and I to become more informed. The Hypnobirthing techniques are very helpful and I am confident to employ them during labour and birth.

Amy K-S: Megan is just brilliant! Her easy-going approach made us feel comfortable and reassured during what can be a stressful time. Her knowledge and experience gave us the confidence for the right path for me, baby and our breastfeeding journey. I would highly recommend her to anyone thinking about using her services and hope to again myself one day!!

C K: My husband and I did the hypnobirthing course and would definitely recommend! Prior to doing the course we had no idea. After doing the course we felt a lot more confident, knowledgeable, informed, calm and prepared. Megan has a wealth of knowledge and what I loved about her was her calming and non-judgemental attitude/approach.I also saw Megan for post natal advice and lactation support. I purchased the post natal package and would also recommend! Megan came to my house each visit and she was a life saver. She answered all of my questions, supported and reassured me. In the beginning I struggled with breastfeeding and now 4 months in, I’m exclusively breastfeeding. In the beginning I thought I would never get there and almost gave up. Has been such a long journey but so glad I had Megan supporting me.

Lexie: Megan has been a godsend to my family during a very challenging time. After seeking support from GPs, paediatricians, midwives and nurses on my struggles with breastfeeding, Megan was my final hope. Before the consultation I filled out a very detailed questionnaire online before the appointment so that she could get a good understanding of my pregnancy/birth and postpartum experience. I had two appointments with Megan. The first was to work out why I kept getting mastitis, blocked ducts, nipple damage and why my Bub wasn’t latching properly. She had a wealth of information and ideas to assist with my issues, which certainly did help. The second appointment we discussed my bub’s gulping/choking of milk and intense tummy pains in relation to his lip and tongue tie. Again, Megan had great information on tie releases and was able to refer me to an oral specialist. It’s been about 3 weeks since my last appointment with Megan and everything is going smoothly for us. I would recommend any new mother or mother struggling with breastfeeding to see Megan as soon as possible. I wish I booked in with her much sooner! For my next baby I will be booking in with Megan again first thing. Thanks again Megan!

Anna H: I was interested in Hypnobirthing before my pregnancy and had my husband and I signed up to Megan's course very early on. We completed the two part course around 17 weeks and loved the objective and compassionate way Megan covered the material, using her significant experience from the public system to make us feel empowered and informed on all our options during birth. The course helped my partner and I get on the same page with our wishes for the birth and made us both less scared about what was to come.Unfortunately I experienced a complete placenta previa and ended up having an emergency c section at 34 weeks so I didn't get to implement a lot of the techniques we learned, but I think completing the course together helped us both feel calm and connected through what could have been a pretty scary birth and nicu stay for babe. I would highly recommend Hypnobirthing to anyone interested, and in particular Megan's course because we both loved her balanced and knowledgeable approach.

Sarah Djekic: I attended Megan’s Hypnobirthing course and also saw her for a lactation consult after my daughter was born. Both my husband and I learned so much during the Hypnobirthing course and I had the perfect calm and positive birth that I dreamed of.Her support with breastfeeding was also so valuable. She recognised my babies tongue and lip tie and offered us so much information about it. I would highly recommend both of these services! Thanks Megan.

Angie Eads: The hypnobirthing course made us feel so much more confident and prepared for our birth experience, and was so useful from both of our perspectives. Empowering partners by providing them with birth support techniques was so encouraging. Megan is such a fountain of knowledge, pragmatic, welcoming, and non-judgemental. I highly recommend this course, or reaching out to her for any other birth/lactation needs!!

Maud Gill: An absolutely wonderful and informative consult with Megan. She is professional, knowledgeable, patient and so kind. She was nothing short of brilliant when meeting my son and I, making a huge positive impact on my breastfeeding journey. Thank you so much! Highly recommend anyone who is 'on the fence' to meet with Megan and share in her wealth of knowledge.

Lucy Gosling: As a first time parent, Megan’s Hypnobirthing Australia course helped us to mentally prepare for our baby’s arrival whilst also equipping us with a suite of tools to best manage the labour experience.I highly recommend the course for parents-to-be looking to be educated, enlightened and empowered!

Emily Johns: Megan is not only a calm, kind and lovely person, she is incredible at what she does! I was beside myself trying to figure out breastfeeding with my baby and with one session with Megan, my baby latched and had a beautiful feed. The plan that is given after consult is highly detailed and packed full of useful information to help you thrive with breastfeeding. Couldn’t fault anything about my experience with Megan and also couldn’t thank her enough!!! Would highly recommend getting in contact with her if you have any issues whatsoever! - Amazing!

Melinda Chiment: Megan was great - incredibly knowledgable and easy to talk to. She took the time to listen to my questions and concerns and help identify feeding strategies that work for my situation and lifestyle. Thank you, Megan!

Dayna Crimmins: We found Megan at Adelaide Lactation Consultants to be an abundance of helpful knowledge when our little boy was born. Megan didn’t mind swapping her schedule to fit us in or reschedule If we needed to. It was really great our baby could get weighed when Megan visited our home. I would recommend Megan to anyone needing a little extra support and guidance in regards to feeding & postnatal support

May Loke: session, especially during the peak of COVID restrictions. Megan is extremely encouraging and positive in my journey to breastfeed my baby - even now while I'm still having issues with my supply. The information she presented was easy to understand, while comprehensive, and she took care and time to answer all my questions. I would highly recommend contacting her as a lactation consultant!

Jamie Harrod: We had a consultation with Megan for our youngest daughter. Megan was thorough in the consultation and gave us very effective advice. Our daughters feeding has improved as a result.

aimee leong: Megan helped us immensely by spending time to understand the birth background of our daughter, as well as our breastfeeding patterns. She also spent time to observe how I breastfed and helped to recognise a tongue tie, and a further referral for the unlatching procedure. Her report back to us was thorough with lots of recommendations, as well as further information and support on breastfeeding post appointment. Highly recommend for anyone needing help with breastfeeding- Megan has a calm, professional manner that made us feel at ease during the appointment.

Women's and Children's Hospital: what do users think?

Ian Mac: Oddly, i feel compelled to update this. COVID made a lot of health institutions struggle, and change isn't always handled well. I think the WCH has come out of the mire. Resources are always an issue in healthcare, but i've met enough staff here in Craniofacial, Dental, Mental Health, Eating disorders, gastroenterology etc...that really DO care. Good, approachable people, that will do what they can, within their power, to help. Moving in the right direction. You can't please everyone all the time, especially in resource challenged institutions. But the right people are helluva good start. And no, it's not just 'a part of the job., be patient with your carers.

Troy Nguyen: We can’t speak highly enough about the midwives and doctors at the WCH Adelaide. My wife and I had our second daughter born here, we always felt cared for and the staffs were very supportive, friendly and professional. We are grateful for the care we received and would like to shout out to India, Mira and all the other nurses and doctors who had helped us.The wait could be long and understandable as this is a public hospital and I wish this can be improved in the future.

Alina Page: The things the staff have to deal with and still provide amazing care... honestly, we should seriously not just pay our nurses more, but also show them the utmost respect. The patience and endless care I have seen them display even for the most hateful individuals.... hat off ladies and gents. You are incredible!

Pamela Judge: Absolutely amazing staff on yesterday in emergency. Both of the doctors and all the nurses who attended were wonderful, caring and professional. A shout out to nurse Josh, who went above and beyond to make my grandson feel special and valued. We will always remember Josh for his humour, kindness and caring. He's one of the best advertisements for the nursing profession. Thankyou Women's and Children's.

Gaynor Cooper: We used the virtual app with a Doctor this week through WCH, gave us the ability to stay home in our comfort & for our 3 yr old. We used this to gain medical advice before venturing to E.D in the cold of night. Dr Gabby was excellent and patient. Reassurance given and referral to a specialist following day. Dr Gabby gave clear & precise information, advice given if our situation had deteriorated overnight.Totally recommend using this virtue appointment. Follow up appointment at specialist clinic next day by referral from Dr Gabby was also excellent, caring staff.

Aniket Paranjpe: Took my 7 year old daughter with high fever. Everyone was so helpful & friendly. The wait times were a bit high but everyone was doing their best & attending to patients as soon as they could. Doctor Danielle Boniface, nurse Michael, Jonty took great care & were thoroughly professional. Even volunteer Kelly who was trying to make the patients & their carers time there better. Keep up the good work fellas!

Rock: Took great care of my kids they recovered from breaking their arm at the elizabeth playground

Calvary North Adelaide Hospital: what do users think?

shi L.A: I had my surgery and stayed overnight in this hospital. Amazing doctors, nurses and staff, felt their genuine care and they took time to explain everything ensuring that I understand them. From the hospital facilities, resources, doctors, nurses and staff - overall 5 stars.

Lisa Pope: The nursing staff at Calvary North Adelaide are lovely - professional, caring and friendly. The food is tasty and well prepared. The hospital is a little tired but clean and more than functional. Only issue for me was that the jugged water had an odd taste that even cordial didn’t overcome. Overall you are in good hands if you have a procedure here.

Barbara Van Ruth: My husband recently had a day procedure done here as the wait list at the RAH was long. He was so happy with the Calvary and found the staff to be so caring and a very happy crew. It is an anxious time when requiring any procedures and the staff can make or break this.He can not recommend them highly enough. Thankyou for your care.

Delia Brennan: Didn't get to eat much of the meals, as the appetite wasn't there, but tasted them, and the food was excellent. Didn't get to fill out the card. As a long standing vegetarian commercial cook, thought the effort gone into a vegetarian meal was excellent.

Libby Carey: I recently spent a week in Calvary North Adelaide. I can only speak of my experience, but from the moment of admission, through surgery & post op recovery, I received excellent care. The staff of St Clare ward were always there to help when needed - Corinna, the Breast Care nurse was so supportive. My room was spacious, cleaned regularly and the meals were more than adequate. I would happily return to Calvary North Adelaide again

Karen Adams: The care I received after surgery was great and the meals excellent All staff were lovely I wouldn't hesitate to go back there

Chris Eldridge: From the first instance of contacting the hospital through to my procedure, the process was easy, efficient and professional. All staff were amazing. Friendly, helpful, professional and caring. Highly recommended.

Debi Reed: Went as a support person for someone else….everything went smoothly, easy to find correct suite, friendly helpful staff, minimum wait time…. Operation locked in…happy patient

Bonnie: The maternity staff at Calvary North Adelaide are absolutely amazing. I had the pleasure of being in their care when I have birth to my daughter in November last year. I have been raving to anyone who will listen, what a beautiful experience I had at Calvary. Friendly staff, beautiful room, yummy food and the beautiful hospital itself.A big and special shoutout to Emily one of the midwives that helped me through my labour, she was absolutely amazing. My special guardian angel that day 3Also shoutout to Amelia and Rene. So warm and supportive. They made me feel so comfortable and cared for.The staff I encountered were too many to mention, but they all do such a fantastic job. Being on call 24/7 and always answering any of our questions, even the silly ones- they were nothing but helpful.Thank You again to the incredible staff. You all do a marvelous job and you should be very proud of yourselves.

nidhi manocha: I recently underwent endometriosis surgery, and unfortunately, I experienced a spike in my heart rate after the procedure. The cause of this issue is still unknown, but I want to express my gratitude for the exceptional care I received from the medical staff and doctors. They acted swiftly and provided me with impeccable care, ensuring that I felt safe and well-cared for throughout the ordeal. I would like to give special recognition to Madam Meena, the night staff nurse, who went above and beyond in looking after me. Her level of care made me feel as if I were a member of her own family, and I am truly grateful for her dedication and support of all the other staff members too .

Marc Parsell: I went thier to pick up a friend and was thier for quite awhile. And the lovely day surgery nursing staff offered to make me a coffee and their also gave me something to eat. I appreciated ever thing they did for me.

Brenda Jamesion: I was there recently for a day procedure. The care I received from everyone was very good and friendly, and I felt well looked after the entire time. Thank you

R L: Great hospital with amazing nurses. I felt completely cared for during my time at the hospital. Thank you so much for looking after me.

Royal Adelaide Hospital: what do users think?

Tony Allworden: Ward nurses are excellent at what they do, very supportive and friendly to talk to. All support structures in place when you need them.. They helped me when I was in for surgery... Can't say enough about all the staff I interacted with they helped me through a tough time in my life, and I'm still getting help from them...A gigantic Thank You to you all..You're the Best...

Binh Nguyen: The Doctor and staff are super nice.

PAULINE BENZ: Exceptional staff - Doctors, Nursing staff down to the cleaners. Food was good - parking not so. But we managed.

Zonney Bruh: The original Adelaide Hospital was built in 1840 at the eastern end of North Terrace, Adelaide, with its first building superseded in 1856 and many alterations and additions over the following 175 years. It was prefixed by the "Royal" in 1939. In 2017 it was replaced by the new hospital, built at the western end of North Terrace. The new hospital is the most expensive building[1] ever built in Australia, and the most expensive hospital[2] ever built anywhere in the world, at US$2.44 billion in construction and equipment costs. The redevelopment on the site of the old RAH is known as Lot Fourteen.

Ray Min: Saved my life.

Pamela Oldmeadow: After a nasty fall in Adelaide I spent nearly a week in hospital. The facilities were great, and surpassed by the excellent care, always warm, kind and personal. The Cranio-Facial unit were wonderful. I thank everyone.

paul smith: Great place to visit. Great staff. Excellent care.
