We are Australia’s first full time Krav Maga school, are one of the leading self defence school’s in Australia (yes Australia) and we are in Adelaide. Our senior instructors are either current serving or ex military, police, correctional services or security personnel, all with at least 20 years martial arts experience. Few in Australia and no one in Adelaide can match that level of expertise.

While we specialise in teaching self defence to individuals, we also cater for those needing defensive tactics skills in a professional or work context. The standard techniques taught in self defence systems are generally not suited for use in such settings where there are strict regulations or codes of conduct on the use of force, where civilians or members of the public may be present as well as the ever present security cameras and smart phone video cameras.

Because we are about choosing the smartest option in response to any threat situation given who we are – not one dictated by our peers, our ego, the current martial arts fashion or by those who say we must have ‘attitude’ and deal out justice to anyone who threatens us.

Because those who attack others in the street target victims who are not as strong, are unarmed and/or are outnumbered. In order to survive we must outsmart, not just outfight our attackers.

4worldlovers: The Adelaide Wing Chun Academy focuses on delivering the traditional principles of the art of Wing Chun with contemporary application.

Wing Chun is an effective system based on a logical set of principles that is suitable for people of all age groups, gender and fitness levels, wanting to learn self defence or study the art of Wing Chun Kung Fu.

The Academy offers a friendly and supportive enviroment for the individual, where they will grow in ability holistically for the mind and body, including development of thier personal self-defense, fitness, coordination and concentration, and overall improving confidence throught many areas of life.

The Adelaide Wing Chun Academy opened its doors to teach Wing Chun Kung Fu to the people of Adelaide in 2013. The Academy was founded by Sifu Tony Psaila, Sifu Damian Rainer and Instructor Heath Gibbons. Sifu Tony and Sifu Damian have previously held a long term relationship/association with a large national wing chun organisation that closed its doors here in Adelaide.

The trio decided to open up their own Academy so both existing and new students in Adelaide could continue learning an effective system of self-defence and gain a deeper knowlegde of this amazing martial art.

The Academy follows the teachings passed on by Chu Shong Tin and Jim Fung, plus the continual evoloution from the head instructors' decades of knowledge gained from studying, exploring and teaching the Wing Chun system. Sifu's Tony Psaila and Damian Rainer are both recognised by the Ving Tsun Athletic Association Hong Kong as Sifu's of the Wing Chun System. They regularly travel to Hong Kong to train with Grandmaster Chu Shong Tin, and the greater Wing Chun family.

The Adelaide Wing Chun Academy is a member of the Australian Wing Chun Federation, a collection of Wing Chun clubs around Australia that stem from the same linage. The Academy maintains its ties to Grandmaster Jim Fung's original School.

All Students are required to pay an Annual Membership & Insurance fee of $60.

The Adelaide Wing Chun Academy runs specific classes for kids "Dragons Club" a program designed to teach children between the ages of 5 to 12 years, the basis of self defence based on Wing Chun concepts, as well as other specific child oriented awareness strategies.

The Dragons Club program has been designed to equip children with the foundation skills to promote a confident healthy active lifestyle, all whilst enjoying themselves. The Instructors have many years in teaching Wing Chun Self-Defence programs to children, in house and in delivering school and community programs. As well as Wing Chun, the Instructors hold qualifications in Sports Coaching, First Aid and Group Training.

Sifu Tony Psaila has had a love for martial arts since a very young age and was introduced by an old school friend during his primary school years.
